First zero net energy multifamily affordable housing in LA

 Promise Energy designed and installed a 127 kW solar photovoltaic system for Silver Star Apartments, owned and developed by nonprofit developer: A Community of Friends. Along with the solar, we installed a battery storage system and an advanced energy monitoring and management platform to help this project meet its sustainability goals.

Silver Star was awarded Project of the Year at the 2017 Sustainable Innovation Awards hosted by the Los Angeles Chapter of the US Green Building Council.

It also received the Housing Award and the Sustainability Award at the Los Angeles Business Council’s 2018 LA Architectural Awards.

This 49 unit affordable housing development will provide housing and supportive services for formerly homeless Veterans. In addition, this completely solar powered building is LEED Platinum and Energy Star Homes certified.
