Promise Energy is designing and constructing an integrated energy solution that will produce $2.7 million in annual savings for a California manufacturer.

An Integrated Energy Solution

A large manufacturer in California turned to Promise Energy to help it reduce costs and improve its sustainability measures. The company runs 24/7 operations, so it pays steep monthly utility bills to meet its high energy needs. It has also committed to reducing its carbon footprint and improving energy efficiency.

Through a comprehensive energy assessment, the Promise team determined that an integrated energy solution with two rooftop solar arrays, a combined heat and power (CHP) plant, and two absorption chillers will provide the client with the most long-term value. These systems will work in harmony to significantly lower costs, increase efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions.

Integrated Long-Term Savings

The solar arrays will produce clean, renewable energy that, when combined with the CHP electricity production, will offset more than 40% of the facility’s electricity consumption. The CHP plant will also produce waste heat that will be captured to power the absorption chillers, offsetting more than 3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.

Altogether, this  integrated energy solution will produce ~$2.7 million in annual savings. Promise Energy also leveraged its California market expertise to have the proposed system design approved by the local air quality board and identified all relevant local and federal financial incentives to reduce the upfront cost by more than $5.5 million. The client was also offered a 7 year 100% finance option and a commodity procurement contract that generated year 1 savings. It is important to note that these savings are Net of a comprehensive Operations and Maintenance contract for the life of the system.
